way one chooses to spell it, it is related to Cajun music.
Swamp pop was first started in the 1950's when musicians started
mixing the elements of Cajun, rythmn & blues, gospel, and rock
& roll.....and oh yea, I'm a Cajun. As a kid, I spoke Cajun French before I
spoke English. If you love Cajun music , chances are
you'll also love swamp pop. Swamp
pop was given it's name by the British who
liked the music from the Louisiana
swamps and the popular mix of music of
Louisiana.

What a great guy! I met him at "La. Cajun
Stuff" in January of 2004.... I reminded him of some bookings long
ago in Pierre Part with my Uncle Wilbert Blanchard...it was great to
see him light up as he remembered it. My respect for him can't
be measured. My Dad and also thought very highly of him and
his great singing...especially his cajun songs...I guess it's just
that they related so much to them. I'll be releasing my first cajun
songs in the near future thanks to Mr. Vin Bruce's musical influence
on me !!! He has such a golden voice!!!
